GameSpot Editor Fired ...

Posted by DuMonde [Saturday, 01 December 2007 - 15:37]   0 comments
Long time Gamespot reviewer Jeff Gerstmann today finds himself without a job. Why this ?! Because one publisher - Eidos in this scenario - had invested in a prominent advertising campaign on Gamespot. According to a fellow Gamespot contributor and close friend of Gerstmann, the editor was fired Wednesday morning because of his negative review of Edios Kane & Linch: Dead Men, which he awarded "just" with 6.0.  Although, the latest Penny-Arcade comic features a brief overview of this controversy instance.

"it is CNET Networks' policy not to comment on the status of its employees, current of [sic] former."

"For over a decade, Gamespot and the many members of its editorial team have produced thousands of unbiased reviews that have been a valuable resource for the gaming community. At CNET Networks, we stand behind the editorial content that our teams produce on a daily basis."
