New Details About Gothic IV: Genesis
Gothicz.net has published an interview with Jochen Hamma from Spellbound Studios, offering you an overview about Gothic 4: Genesis, the next installment game in the Gothic saga.
It seems that title "Genesis" does not mean a complete restart of the Gothic series! Rather it means that something has changed for the Gothic Universe, or anyway, this is how the new developer explained it. Although is believe the Trinigy Vision Engine will be used in the development of Genesis, and the graphic of the game is expected to come close to the one Gothic 3 had and be up to date and competitive on the market when released. About the story-line of the game we have word from Jochen Hamma that is going to be divided into chapters and, if you ask me, this might be the best solution, for example for changing graphical elements in the gameworld. But, more details about his matter you can find right here.
Q: In action RPGs are very important the combat
system. What improvements do you prepare for us? Will be possible to
control the game like in G1, just by means of keyboard?
A: The fight system will be the area which is to see
the biggest changes compared to G3. I can only comment on the controls
of the fight system - once it's fully implemented. In general - as we
want to keep far distance weapons - some pointing device may be
necessary. That's why at the moment, I'm not sure if the interface on
PC can be keyboard only.
